Abstract
At present about 68,000 acres of land are under irrigation in South Dakota but plans have been developed for a vast expansion of irrigation in the state. When the new projects, planned by the Bureau of Reclamation, are completed South Dakota will have over one million acres of irrigable land. This new development will be in a climatic zone somewhat different that that in which other projects have been developed and consequently may require modifications in production programs and crop rotations.
