Abstract

This study attempts to answer several questions: 3 (l) what are the differences in agency definitions that may explain the differences in wetland determinations? (2) how do mapping methodologies of each agency influence resulting delineations? (3) what, and where, are the extents of differences? and (4) what is the significance of these differences? The hypothesis of this study is that, based on the methodologies employed by each agency to produce their inventory, the SCS inventory contains more- wetlands than the NWI.
