A correctly designed pump irrigation installation, used under proper conditions and with good management, can be a profitable practice in the most parts of South Dakota. It is the intention of this publication to briefly discuss the equipment that goes into a pumping plant. By so ding, potential users of this equipment will have some indication of the operating costs of the various units as well as the type of equipment that is best suited to his particular conditions.
