Abstract

The new crop Adaptation Areas of the state, illustrated on the following pages, have been outlined based on soil type, elevation, temperature and rainfall. These factors largely determine the type of agriculture carried on within these areas. Varieties are being recommended for these areas based on length of growing season, average rainfall disease frequency and fanning practices. Often an individual farm, due to its location or the management practiced by the operator, may more closely resemble conditions of an area other than the one in which the farm is located. Recommendations listed here should be considered in the light of these possibilities.
