Description

Children’s health is the foundation of their overall development, and ensuring that they are born healthy is the first step toward increasing the life chances of children. Poor health in childhood impacts other critical aspects of a child’s life and can have lasting consequences on the child’s future health and well-being. The session will review children’s health data in South Dakota for infant mortality, low birthweight, child and teen deaths, teen births, and prenatal care. Data will cover South Dakota compared to the nation and adjacent states; state trend data; county data, and data by race.
