Description
Barley ranks next to corn and oats in importance as a feed crop in South Dakota. Its production is increasing. This increase may well proceed at the expense of acreage now devoted to oats production. Barley will on most farms yield more feed per acre than can be obtained with oats. Barley is an important crop over the eastern half of South Dakota with production centered in the east-central portion of the state.
