About Open PRAIRIE: Public Research Access Institutional Repository and Information Exchange
Open PRAIRIE is the South Dakota State University public access institutional repository (IR). The IR supports the strategic mission of the library, the institution, and the University’s status as a land-grant institution. The repository allows public access to information, resources, and the scholarly and creative output of the University. The repository provides permanent storage of institutional materials and a peer-reviewed publishing platform for faculty and student research.
Open PRAIRIE Collection Development
The collection development of the repository is open to a wide variety of institutionally generated materials in various formats, including both audio and video files. The repository is also able to host peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings.
Some of the types of content in Open PRAIRIE include, but are not limited to:
- journal articles including both pre-prints/post-prints
- theses and dissertations
- classroom instructional materials including syllabi, and learning objects
- conference papers and presentations
- departmental materials and publications
- administrative documents
- creative works
- multimedia files
At this time, submissions to the repository are managed by the Open PRAIRIE staff, and the faculty of the Hilton M. Briggs Library.
