Abstract
The objectives of the study include:
1. To review the literature on IV therapy, the incidence of phlebitis in relation to dwell time and other aspects of IV therapy.
2. To examine a sample of acute hospitalized patients whose IV catheters are changed at 48 hours, at 72 hours, and over 72 hours.
3. To identify the incidence of phlebitis with each sample subgroup.
