Description
Feeding for high milk production actually starts during the dry period or late in the previous lactation. During the dry period, cows should consume enough nutrients to maintain or add body condition but not get excessively fate. A body condition score of 3.5 to 4 at calving is ideal for high milk yield, fat test, and reproductive performance.
