Summary
Several by-products of the distillery, fish and cheese industries have been reported to give growth responses when added to swine rations thought to be adequate in known nutrients. It is known that these by-product feeds are good sources of many vitamins and minerals and it has been postulated that they may contain other "Unidentified Growth Factors" (UGF) that may be required by the pig. The experiments reported herein were conducted to study the effect of distillers dried grains with solubles (DDG/S) on ration digestibility as well as its effect on growth and feed conversion of growing -finishing swine.
