Summary
The value of a feedstuff is based on several factors; acceptability (how well the material will be consumed by an animal), energy availability and as a source of other nutrients (proteins, vitamins and minerals). Should a swine producer feed corn or wheat or barley or oats and others as a grain ingredient? In South Dakota, this will depend primarily upon availability, cost of these ingredients and their value as a souce of energy for swine.
