Abstract

This collection documents the history and activities of the Admissions Office at South Dakota State University (SDSU), covering student recruitment, enrollment processes, and institutional outreach from the late 19th century to the early 21st century. It includes admissions applications, recruitment brochures, event announcements, promotional posters, student orientation materials, and informational publications. Early documents outline enrollment procedures and academic offerings, while later materials reflect the modernization of admissions practices.

The collection highlights SDSU’s efforts to attract and inform prospective students through publications such as SDSC View Book (1935), You Can Go Anywhere from Here! (2002, 2005), and Junior Day (1999-2000). It also includes event materials for student engagement programs like TGIF at SDSU (1989-2000) and Jackrabbit Reception (2006). The records provide insight into the university’s evolving recruitment strategies, administrative processes, and promotional campaigns over time.
