Abstract

Evelyn T. Hubbard was an artist known for her architectural painting depicting historic buildings at South Dakota State University. Working in oil on panel, her work documented campus landmarks such as Old Central and Old North, contributing to the visual record of buildings that have since been altered or removed. Hubbard’s paintings were valued not only as works of art but also as historical representations, and at least one of her campus scenes was intended by donors to be preserved in a public art setting, reflecting its significance as a cultural and institutional legacy.
