Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze guest green reviews on TripAdvisor and identify what green practices are mentioned by guests at resort/luxury and business/economy hotels. The results revealed that resort/luxury hotel guests are more likely to comment on the hotel’s green practices, especially in energy, waste, site, and education & innovation categories, than business/economy hotel guests would. On the other hand, business/economy hotel guests are more likely to leave green reviews in general green practices, towel reuse, linen reuse, recycling, guest training, water, and purchasing categories. The results provide an empirical evidence for hotel managers to truly understand what green practices are noticed and appreciated by their guests. Managerial implications and future research suggestions are included at the end of this article.
