Abstract
This research provides an explanation for the demographic determinants of coupon usage in retail grocery stores. Based on prior research, relevant demographic variables are modeled and tested using linear regressions, primarily through the use of dummy variables. The six primary variables in this study are household income, household age, household education, household membership size, household race, and household working status. Results and conclusions for each variable and its relation to coupon usage are provided.
