    At the beginning of the twentieth century, new ideas and discoveries revolutionized the way we understand, experience, and quantify time. These new ideas posed challenges to the literary representation of time and created an urgent need to respond to those challenges. In my talk, I examine some of these changes and discuss their relationship with modernism.
