Abstract
The relation of color of print to color of background is an important factor to be considered in printing because color does affect legibility. It is the opinion of this investigator that with the increased use of color in all aspects of American life today, relevant research in certain areas of color and color perception should be undertaken. In the area of color a considerable amount of academic research has been done. This research was done mainly by psychologists who were primarily concerned with both the psychological and pedagogical aspects of reading.
