Abstract
This study will be concerned with advertising income and production expense of South Dakota weekly newspapers from the standpoint of a justified advertising rate. From published advertising rates and expense data received from individual South Dakota weekly newspaper publishers, the author will endeavor to establish an average rate charged per unit of advertising and compare it with an average cost-of producing that unit.
