Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine whether using the basket rim or using the backboard as a point of aim is the more accurate method of shooting a jump shot. The distances of ten and fifteen feet within a specified angle of 45 degrees were investigated. Ten volunteers from the South Dakota State University Junior Varsity Basketball Team participated in this study. The study involved a four-week period, starting November 3, 1969, and ending November 24, 1969.
