Abstract
The objective of this study was to determine genetic diversity and phenetic relationships among known races and South Dakota collections of P. sojae by molecular techniques. The results presented in this study suggest that molecular techniques may be of practical use in the identification and characterization of P. sojae races and individual isolates. This should allow detailed monitoring of the population structure of P. sojae. The data also provide some interesting insights on the evolutionary relatedness of P. sojae races and how new races arise.
