Abstract
The objectives of this research were: 1. To establish a bio-kinetic model which is capable of predicting the performance of the activated sludge process at the Brookings WTF, and 2. To demonstrate the application of the model in predicting how the plant might perform under various operational conditions. The Brookings WTF is located about 5 miles south-west of the city of Brookings, South Dakota. It provides physical and biological treatment to the municipal and industrial wastewater generated in the city.
