Abstract
The purpose of this study is to determine rural nurses' knowledge-base and attitudes toward caring for persons with AIDS (PWAs). The problems under investigation in this study are: 1. What is the AIDS knowledge and attitudes of rural nurses living and practicing in South Dakota towards people living with AIDS? 2. What supportive services do frontier nurses require in caring for people with AIDS? And, 3. To what extent does the South Dakota frontier nurse experience the fear of AIDS contagion?
