Abstract
This study was designed to answer the following research questions:
1. How does the availability of an employer-sponsored on-site child care center influence current employment choices of nurses selected for the study?
2. What influence does employer-sponsored on-site child care have on employee job performance?
3. What influence does employer-sponsored on-site child care have on employee absenteeism?
4. What differences exist in the descriptions of benefits of employer-sponsored on-site child care between nurses who commute from a rural area to work in an urban area and nurses who live and work in the same urban area?
