Abstract
The purposes of this study are:
1. To determine the relationship of perceived control of daily activities with levels of hopelessness in nursing home residents residing in two rural Minnesota nursing homes.
2. To explore the impact of differing staffing patterns in the two facilities as it relates to residents' perception of control and levels of hopelessness.
