Abstract
The primary aim of this study was the evaluation of performance proficiency of BSE among rural women that lived along the southeastern boarder of South Dakota. Insight gained from this study also provided two secondary benefits. Secondary benefits were: (1) the identification of educational deficits related to BSE performance, and (2) the potential improvement in the delivery of BSE education to rural women based upon the deficits identified. Additionally, the methodology utilized in this study was specifically designed to enhance BSE performance proficiency of the participants.
