Description
Agriculture is South Dakota's leading industry, representing a capital investment of almost three billion dollars and producing an annual income of about 200 million dollars. Still in its infancy, this great industry deserves a program of future development that will serve as a guide to the many individuals interested in the business of farming in South Dakota. In the preparation of this program, it is realized that this first attempt is not perfect in all details. However, it is hoped that with this as a beginning, the future of Agriculture in South Dakota will be approached with a keener insight on the part of our farmers than would otherwise be the case. Farmers, prospective farmers, agricultural leaders and teachers, and men in public office who are interested in agriculture, may all use this as a guide in furthering the development of agriculture within a given area of the state. This is the chief purpose of this bulletin.
