Description
This document discusses how a community or individual might observe Rural Life Sunday. Rural Life Sunday, the fifth after Easter, which has its roots in the Rogation Days, is a day set apart for emphasizing the meaning of Christianity for rural life; for the invocation of God's blessing upon the seed, the fruits of the soil, and the cultivators of the earth: for the consideration of justice for agriculture and the spiritual values of rural life. It was first observed in 1929, at the suggestion of the International Association of Agricultural Missions, and according to plans adopted by the Home Missions Council and the Federal Council of the Churches of Christ in America, and many religious bodies.
