Description
Selecting and developing a good dairy heifer into a profitable, producing cow, gives the 4-H Club member valuable experience and confidence in his ability to do a job well. Successful dairy club members are those who like their dairy heifers and are anxious to learn the best methods of feeding, training, showing and caring for them, in order to grow them into beautiful, high-producing cows that will return a steady income over a long period. Dairying requires more intelligent and careful attention to details than any other kind of farming, but it is a lesser gamble because it brings in a regular income.
