Description
Wheat can be successfully used in concentrate and starter rations for dairy cows and calves. The nutrient content of wheat and shelled corn are similar, although wheat is 30 to 50% higher in crude protein. For dairy cattle wheat and corn are equivalent in energy content. This is important because energy intake is often the limiting factor for high-producing cows.
