Description
Herbicides are applied for controlling weeds on about 4 million acres in South Dakota each year. A total of 17 herbicides are being used — 9 in small grain, 7 in corn, 4 in sorghum and 4 in soybeans. Several may be applied in spray or granular form. Sprays may be obtained in liquid or powder form, and some may be applied with oil or water as a carrier. The use of herbicides is becoming more complex each year, making it necessary for the user to expend some effort to learn how to use them correctly.
