Project Description / Known Impact
Flandreau Indian School is adopting a new treatment philosophy designed specifically for youth who have had traumatic or chaotic pasts. As a residential school traditionally led by military philosophy, this transition presented a radical change for many of the staff. My part in the transition was to provide support for folks who work in the girls’ dorm, and folks who work in the boys’ dorm, separately, twice a month, so that they get taken care of while they learn to take different care of their residents.
