Abstract
Objectives identified for this study are:
1. To determine behaviors that hospitalized patients identify manifestations of caring by the nurse.
2. To analyze data from patient interviews for patterns and themes of caring behaviors of the nurse.
3. To determine patients’ feelings generated by the nurse’s caring behavior.
4. To organize patients’ descriptions of feelings into common themes and categorize according to their meaning.
