Abstract
This study examines the effects of Graduate Teaching Assistants: gender, teaching area, language background, previous teaching experience, training, assigned duties and other variables and there effect on communication apprehension, using McCroskey's Personal Report of Communication Apprehension. The results suggest that gender, teaching area, language background, previous teaching experience, and training do not affect GTAs communication apprehension. However, assigned duties and the number of semesters a GTA had been teaching do affect the level of their apprehension. The results are suggestive but do provided an insight into GTAs communication apprehension.
