Abstract
Many educators are faced with the decision to implement their knowledge in setting up an early childhood setting or classroom. These educators need to make the classroom developmentally appropriate for the children they are working with. This study evaluates what particular factors impact the decisions the educator has in creating their environment. This study looks at (a) the philosophy or pedagogical approach of the educator and how it affects their decisions in their early childhood environment; (b) are teachers influenced by factors such as light, color, and space in their environment; and (c) what do teachers see as their most limiting influence in setting up their environment. Future educators can use this study as a guideline to help them when making decisions on setting up their own classroom or early childhood environments.
