Abstract
This study examined employee motives, and perceived rewards and costs behind self-disclosure in the workplace. A content analysis analyzed data collected from an online questionnaire. Using data from 148 questionnaires, the research gathers information on why employees self-disclose at work, what they view as appropriate and inappropriate self-disclosure, and if they have experienced any advantages or disadvantages as a result of workplace self-disclosures.
