Abstract
This research presents a method to assess producers' opinion on their activities and also on Bad River water quality project that was initiated in the early 1990s on Bad River basin of South Dakota. The literature review mentions some selective literature on conservation economics, land use patterns and change in land management practices. This research also provides an overview on all watershed project studies completed on this river basin. The cost summary of various phases of this water quality project is also discussed in this study. The binary logistic regression analysis reports the socio-economic variables like age, years living on a farm influenced behavior of the landowners to adopt conservation practices. The findings also indicated a high level of satisfaction on conservation practices adopted during that project by the majority of the respondents.
