Abstract
This study examined why players substitute physical contact with people for virtual contact with people, why players engage in self-disclosure, and how they interact with other players. A content analysis analyzed data collected from an online questionnaire. Using data from 125 questionnaires, the research gathered information on why players self-disclose within the game World of Warcraft and if they have experienced any advantages or disadvantages from those interactions.
