Abstract
Analyses conducted at South Dakota State University attempted to verify the geometric accuracy of standard, orthorectified, and precision products of Ikonos imagery from 2000 through 2002 produced by Space Imaging Corporation, as well as standard and orthorectified imagery products of Quickbird from 2002 through 2003 produced by Digital Globe Corporation to determine if specifications for the NASA Science Data Purchase (SDP) were met. Geometric accuracy is assessed using ground control point methodology and other GPS-based survey techniques. Differences between the true GPS values on certain locations on the ground and image derived values of the same locations are calculated and statistics such as mean, standard deviation, RMSE produced by each of the imagery products are interpreted and analyzed.
