Abstract
Using Blanchard, Carew & Carew's (1990) adapted version of Tuckman’s five stages of group development, this study applied these stages to theatre cast members. South Dakota State University's production of Our Country's Good provided for the data collection. The data collected from journals and field notes were analyzed according to the descriptions of Tuckman's stages: forming, storming, norming, performing and adjourning. The results suggest that the group went through all of Tuckman's five stages. Excerpts from the cast members' journals and observations made by the researcher reflect the thoughts and feelings of the cast as they progressed through the stages.
