Abstract
This thesis, in partial fulfillment of a Master's of Science, seeks to describe the influences of Julie Tayrnor's work in the American Theatre. Since her work began in America in the early 1980's Tayrnor has moved to the forefront of the influential individuals in the arts. She merges all facets of entertainment including theatre, opera and film. She directs, choreographs, designs, builds and employs countless mediums in order to present her art. Julie Tayrnor has become a popular figure in the American Theatre, therefore this study follows the influences of her work, proves her use of communication on this non-verbal level and shows her significance in American Theatre.
