Abstract
This study set out to investigate various elements of communication that occur during the diagnostic interview between patient and health care professionals. Various elements such as time, methods of communication, and satisfaction of communication techniques used by health care providers were examined. A survey was used as the gathering instrument for information provided by prostate cancer patients in the Upper Midwest. Data gathered identified areas of the communication process that were both positive and negative for the patient, as well as provided suggested improvements for the clinician's communication techniques.
