Abstract
This study focused on the use of film as an instructional method in the undergraduate speech communication classroom. A variety of teaching methods were examined and analyzed throughout the study. An instrument distributed to college and university instructors throughout the Upper Midwest provided research. The research elicited assumptions about the extent to which film was used in the classroom, what type of films were used, what concepts were portrayed through the use of film, and the follow-up exercises requested of the students. The research established a significant relationship between the courses film was used in and the concepts portrayed.
