Description
This document shows crop varieties recommended for South Dakota for 1977. The crop recommendations are broken down into the following categories: small grains, row crops, grasses, pasture and forage crops. Each crop recommendation references a Crop Adaptation Areas map. This map divides South Dakota into a total of 13 subsections. The crop adaptation areas of the state, shown on the map, are based on soil type, elevation, temperature, and rainfall. These factors largely determine the type of agriculture within these areas.
