Description
This publication explains what aeration is and why it is necessary to keep farm-stored grain in good condition. An aeration system cools the grain and provides uniform temperature to control moisture. Proper management includes cooling the grain in the fall, checking it for mold and insects in the winter, and warming the grain in the spring. The operator should use low airflow rates to lower capital and operation costs.
