This publication provides statistics for crime rates and costs in rural South Dakota. It also provides measures for rural residents to take to curtail crime, such as locking windows and doors, gas or fuel tanks, and outbuildings. Creating an inventory of personal possessions and leaving a light on for an extended absence are also suggested.
