Abstract
Given the increased concerns regarding college students' lack of knowledge of basic personal finance concepts and poor understanding of the consequences of credit card abuse./misuse, this study focuses on the personal finance knowledge and credit card behaviors of first-year college students (n=359) at South Dakota State University. The majority of students surveyed demonstrated a failing level of knowledge of basic personal finance concepts, while the majority of students indicated positive credit card usage habits.
