Abstract
This study analyzed twelve leaders in six episodes on NBC's The Apprentice 3 (Burnett, Trump, & Bienstock, 2005). The purpose of this study was to examine the leaders' nonverbal behaviors in each of five categories: kinesics, paralanguage, haptics, appearance, and proxemics. Three coders examined the episodes and noted any observation of the nonverbal cues discussed in the five nonverbal categories. The results were then discussed, and the different categories of leaders were compared to note if any differences existed between the winning leaders and losing leaders, leaders with a college degree and leaders with only a high school degree, and male leaders and female leaders. It was also determined if previously studied powerful nonverbal behaviors were violated or underutilized.
