Abstract
The purpose of the study was to investigate the training and educational needs of family day care providers in Eastern South Dakota. The study also assessed the relationship between training and educational level of providers and the quality of child care providers in the home. Subjects included 102 family day care providers in rural and urban areas in eastern South Dakota. Results revealed the amount of training, frequency of the training and the educational level of the provider are significantly related with the quality of the home.
